Are you superstitious? Believe in good or bad luck etc? Started by: Smash on Mar 16, '21 13:21

I'm not superstitious either. Although.. the fact that my ex-husband was born on a Friday the 13th has many times made me think 'Oh that's why he was complete ****' but really, the reality of it was he was just that way! Not due to the date he was born on or maybe it was.. I will never know! ;)

i believe that people see you doing good things and dont want bad things to happen to you since you appear to be a good person. the more people that like you, the less likely you are to have a bad day. this is basically karma if you think about it like that.

Report Post Tip
I do believe in Karma. Good things happen to those with good intentions.

I'm not superstitious at all.  There isn't any real evidence of fate, karma, or destiny.  Bad things happen to good people all the time and good things happen to bad people.  I really put a lot more weight into peoples work ethic and life decisions as the cause of the trajectory in life opposed to some supernatural nonsense.

Karma is a thing, although slow to bite whom done you wrong back.

I attempt to treat people how i'd like to be treated, what you put out is what you sow later I believe.

walking under ladders makes me feel off, last time I did that I got bitten by a dog that punctured my leg with his K9 tooth causing me to be on multiple rounds of antibiotics xD maybe that's just trauma as I walked past this ridgeback dog daily for months with no signs of wanting to bite. the next day  I walk under a ladder helping dad get something and I get bitten xD it's a superstition I never got as a little kid yet got yelled at from my mum if I tried though.

Has never believed in bad or good luck in my entire life. Its just a weird thing that never can help out, in bad luck I love to do many things that according to old saying giving bad luck and and have never ever had it after doing such things like backing when seeing a black cat crossing a street and many other things that must get you in bad luck.,

Report Post Tip

I'm not particularly superstitious, however I do believe in good or bad luck. I don't think luck and superstition is connected necessarily. A lot of casino games are luck-based, and I don't think blowing on the dice or whatever helps at all

Report Post Tip

I'm not exactly "Superstitious". But i tend to joke about fate on teh regular, especially when playing D&D.

at the table i play at, a popular phrase when someone is rolling poorly is "Dice juju doesn't exist"(somewhat ironically), and I tend to extend that to all chance based situtaions I find myself in. So i'll be doing anything with a chance of failure beyond my control and be like "[item] juju doesn't exist."

On the other hand, watching sports. if my team wins, I wear that shirt next game, If they lose, new shirt. So idk, maybe i am superstitious a little

I’m kind of superstitious, like I’ll knock on wood, I won’t open an umbrella inside or put new shoes on the table, always put money in a purse if I’m giving it away, and I sweep out the old Year on near years. Strange. Yes. But tradition.

Report Post Tip
I’m not really superstitious but figure doing certain things can’t hurt if things are going well, especially with sports teams. I do believe in luck and some people tend to have better than others. I feel I’m pretty lucky.

I'm not superstitious, no. I don't really believe in good or bad luck, either. I do believe in karma, though. Just seen it play out too many times, not to. It's funny to me when a certain football/basketball/hockey team is playing and my husband refuses to wear that team's shirt. It's never made any kind of difference in decades, yet he just won't wear that shirt on game day. X'D

I don't believe in good or bad luck either, and i am not going to believe every word of a horoscope, or a random tarot card reading.  When people go out and look for a sign to match etc, when anyone could be a match, in reality, drives me nuts

Report Post Tip
I believe in a balance of power that overall good luck is based on past actions, that said some people have clearly done a deal with the devil.

I guess once you are fxcxed you may as well keep going.
Report Post Tip
I definitely believe in getting jinxed, but also accidentaly jinxing something or someone myself. To undo it I knock on wood three times. So nah I’m not like overly superly superstitious but idk it’s most oikely just something I do out of habit rather than anything.

Not at all, I don't think the future is "Written in stone". What people call "Faith" is really just the results of the actions they took before said "Faith" for example:

If you are a criminal, you are MOST LIKELY going to go to jail or die,

by the same token if you go to school and get a Ph.D you will most likely have a 6 figure income at the very least and have a stable family throughout your life, I guess you could call both of them "Faith"

Not in the slightest. I just can't bring myself to believe in any of that stuff. Good luck is a consequence of your own and other peoples actions and the same can be said for bad luck. Obviously, there are greater forces at play than humans such as nature.. etc but even those forces can be and are influenced by humans.

Many people say to focus on something, show the universe what you want and it will manifest into reality. The actual fact is just that you set yourself a goal, constantly reminded yourself and consistently pursued it. thus, it became reality.

Report Post Tip

I am not supersticious I do however believe in ghosts. Not conventionl ones like in the movies but ones that fuck with like electricity and stuff. Those are the ghosts you gotta watch out for. Also, fuck black cats

Report Post Tip

Don't walk under ladders. Don't break mirrors.

I just use common sense. I will note a black cat has walked in front of me, but I don't chase it and torment it.

Report Post Tip

I'm not sure if hobbits can be categorized as superstition, but I believe that hobbits are magical beings. And very territorial, that's why you'll never see a large concentration of hobbits in the same area. They can't stand eachother.
