Can you share with me some of the things you've done as a leader for the betterment of the game, Esquie? Looking for some inspiration for my exit interview with Monarch now that he's gatewaying us towards complacency. |

Ran multiple cities, ran multiple comps with large participation, ran a comp that increased dice rolls by 3-5x for the day. Introduced a large number of new players into the game and leadership. I could probably think of more, but I'm not even looking for my level of involvement. There is just absolutely no way you're a good and effective leader with less than an hour a day in the game. |

In what ways was your running of multiple cities helpful? When was this? What were the comps with large participation? I want to check them out. |

Simon is asking all the hard-hitting questions here. Please do enlighten us, Esquie.. I'd truly love to know what all wonderful competitions and prizes I've unfortunately missed out on. |

Here, have a couple. But I'm not here to talk about my accomplishments.
None of that would change my stance; you can't be a good leader at less than 10 hours a week. |

You don't need to change your stance, you place great importance on how many hours someone is logged in. Good for you. My point was that an arbitrary amount of hours logged into the game demonstrates nothing other than that. It does not directly correlate to the enjoyment of the individual, their crew or the other users in the game, all of which in my view, are far more accurate measures of whether or not someone is pulling their weight. You suggested this was "BS" and some sort of gateway to complacency and leaders who do "jack shit for the game", yet when asked for your achievements as a leader in this regard, being logged in for 70 hours a week didn't come up. As it stands, nobody from Corktown is complaining about Monarch, nor anybody at all until this bile was dredged up again. Therefore, what difference does it make to anyone whatsoever whether he is doing 10 hours or 70? Whether his achievement is mugging New Yorkers or rehashing a boxing competition and posting it into 15 different threads? Why does it matter? The only purpose it serves in this thread is so dorks like you can get on their high horse and find something to whinge about. |

Because the same people who will allow it now would complain when it's not themselves in charge. Do better. |

Was that glaring hypocristy not the point Simon was making initially; that the author of this thread was complicit in the annihilation of the standards that he himself introduced? That this thread has only ever been used as a vector for toxic criticism based on nothing more than an arbitrary standard that the previous regime was unable to uphold despite demanding it themselves? That it contributes nothing but unnecessary animosity? At least that was my understanding, and if so, I fully agree that we should let this steaming turd of a thread die a death. |

I mean, the point of this thread is to point out recurrent inactive uppers. This new era is a bit too young to get a feel for whether they will be slack or not. They could be FANTASTIC or they could get bored quickly. It is meant to pester people to correct lazy behavior, but for a person with one off-week, and then back up the following (perhaps even thanks to this thread being a kick in the ass), it shouldn't be that offensive. Those that go weeks or even months (as they were doing when this thread was posted), were really who this thread is about shaming. I am glad it still triggers though. FUNNY |

Calling DT and their leadership a joke, is the biggest joke on this thread. They're the ones keeping the game active in the streets and getting people involved from other cities to do the same. I don't think anyone in DT will say they aren't having fun. Even from the outside looking in, it looks like they're having a blast and don't need anyone's approval. Except for twigs, DT has a lot of great people and great MR gamers. Simon has an active city with an active street presence. He chose his auth and it's not like he didn't have choices. People turn down auth a lot more these days than accepting it, because they don't want to deal with the headache or bullshit that comes with it. 40 hours a week on a click timer game is a full time job (literally), and no one should feel a game is their job, rather than just a enjoyable hobby. Especially when having a family, kids, wife, weekend activities, work, and other duties that life calls upon us. It's no wonder we lose players rather than grow or open our arms to the casual player.
Bud, you posted your only popular thread twice for cool points, and you relied on a true in-game mechanic to help carry you. If you want to shit on someone for their activity, perhaps we can shit on you for your creativity? Or no? Newsflash, people will dice and gamble regardless and you have no contribution to that in the slightest. And your other two threads are a wasteland. If you're giving examples, these are poor. You may as well have signed up for duel bots with Madoka. DT has done more in 1 thread than you've done in years of being this great crewleader you've assumed you were. Weird flex. |

Not sure if you're blind or just dumb Drieza, but I did post that I had accidentally copied the same link twice and put the actual in the literal next post. I also said that my accomplishments don't change my view, and you'll also notice it was enough for the original asker because I have served my time for the game.
I can't believe how hard some of you guys are trying to justify that you can be a leader with an hour or less a day in the game. I can't believe it's even a conversation that needs to be had. |

Point stand, who cares besides the Karen's in this thread? Don't join the crew. Your feelings get hurt even when you have the choice lol. And apologies, I missed your 2nd post with the extra thread. You weren't joking about the short story competition. Didn't even get to 2 pages. |

I see where everyone is coming from here, Spike was a CL under a GFC for months who barely even did one hour per week. This went on for I believe almost an entire year, and they even reauthed him after his death a few times until he personally decided to step away, Spike could have held this man accountable at any moment and didn't. Why? Cause he didn't actually care. Very few people really do when it comes down to it. I also don't see where the argument is wrong that someone doing under 10 hours isn't a good CL, nothing is being said about them as a person. They very clearly don't care a lot about this place, which is fine and I don't think anyone should be required to. Even Simon, who stated he'd not do a bunch of hours still is willing to go over 20 hours per week which is far more than 10. I don't really think it can be argued that if you're doing under 10 hours consistently for months that you either do not care or don't have the ability to put in enough time, cause it is clearly the truth. With that all said, I'm all for cancelling this thread cause Spike is a little bitch. TinyTim should make a new one, I'd let that man mug me for 10 million dollars any day of the week. |

Spike nobody cares if you didn't enforce these standards on your own regime. If you have an issue with how the current regime is spending their time, rank up and do something about it. |

Solely trying to use the number of hours someone spends playing a game each week as a measure of their ability to be a good crew leader is fundamentally flawed, because time alone doesn't reflect leadership, strategy, communication skills, or the ability to manage and support a family. Someone could play for 40 hours a week and still lack the awareness, emotional intelligence, or decision-making ability required to lead effectively, while another person might play far less but demonstrate strong organizational skills, accountability, and the respect of their peers. Quality of play, how someone engages with others, handles pressure and contributes to group success matters far more than raw hours logged. Anyone who tries to push the narrative that hours played directly equate to leadership ability is either misunderstanding what effective leadership truly entails or is using it as a lazy metric to justify their own biases. Leadership is about impact, not just presence. |
